The Mouse LX5 on a wireless desktop Logitech S520 displays all batteries as empty?
Hello,
I own a cordless desktop Logitech S520 and have been using it regularly. Recently, I faced an issue that still puzzles me. My mouse began blinking red on the top LED (indicating low battery) and green on the down (on/off) LED. Despite using multiple battery pairs, the blinking persisted. The only way to stop it was pressing the "connect" button, but this did not resolve the problem—once I stopped pressing it, the blinking continued immediately.
Yesterday, I disassembled the mouse to investigate further. All buttons and cables were cleaned, yet there was no improvement. I suspect there might be an electrical issue on the board.
I’m reaching out to a community for advice: have others encountered this problem? If so, what solutions did they find?
Thank you in advance.

Please note that the peripheral combo is only a few years old now, since it was launched. You might want to use a cleaner for the mouse's interior and carefully check every part of its PCB to ensure no components are damaged. Regarding the mouse itself, could it be that the device was trying to locate another device even though it was connected to your system?
I've used Logitech mice before in my region, Bangladesh, and all of them failed shortly after the warranty ended or just a bit later.

Respect is important, but let's be clear: the peripheral combo is only a little over ten years old since its release. You might want to use a cleaner for the mouse's interior and check every part of its PCB to ensure no components are damaged. Regarding the mouse itself, could it be that it was trying to connect to another device even though it was connected to your system?
I've used Logitech mice before in Bangladesh, and the cordless models I received all failed shortly after the warranty expired or a bit later.

Have you tried reconnecting the mouse with the adapter?
The age of the mouse/keyboard set is unclear, but reviews from 2007 suggest it might be outdated. You may want to consider replacing it.
