Hi,
I’ve noticed a concern with my gaming PC configuration. A few months back, the mouse pointer stopped responding to its location on the screen—it would reset to a fixed pixel, usually near the left edge of the monitor, about two-thirds down.

I tried several solutions:
- Contacted Microsoft support; they reinstalled my drivers via Device Manager and restored settings, but the problem persisted.
- Used different mice.
- Experimented with various connection methods (wired, Bluetooth, 2.4GHz).
What I’ve observed:
- The issue appears intermittent.
- It happens when in BIO settings or Windows Safe Mode.
- It’s not visible when specific apps are open in full screen, like MS Edge; however, it becomes apparent after minimizing or closing Edge and returning to the desktop.
- With multiple mice, the problem shows up with different ones—wireless or wired.
- It occurs during a game in full screen (I suspect this because I use an Xbox controller and the camera jerks unexpectedly).
- I attempted to disconnect the keyboard and mouse while playing, but the same camera jerk remains.

System details:
- BaseBoard Product: Gigabyte B660M GAMING AC DDR4
- Processor: 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-12400F, 2500 Mhz, 6 cores, 12 logical processors
- MSI: Memory Address 0x0000000040000000-0x00000000BFFFFFFF – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070

Any suggestions on next steps? Should I suspect a hardware problem between the motherboard and graphics card? Your guidance would be greatly appreciated, as I’m trying to figure this out.

I possess an Xbox controller, both wireless and wired. The problem becomes apparent when the controller isn't linked to the computer.

Maybe there are some faulty or damaged Windows files. Try using the built-in Windows troubleshooters. They might locate and resolve the issue. Additionally, execute "dism" and "sfc /scannow" to detect and repair problematic or corrupted files.
