I just completed assembling my first PC, but upon powering it up, I saw the DRAM LED still lit. The fans were running and RGB lights were active, yet no signal appeared on the monitor. I swapped out the RAM modules and tried booting with a single stick, but nothing changed. My keyboard and mouse didn’t activate when connected to the USB port either. Could be an issue with the RAM or the motherboard itself… Any advice? Thanks!

Probably because of a recent BIOS release for this motherboard, enabling the 5600G. The 5600G was released after the B550 line, so older hardware must be upgraded to run the CPU. This can trigger DRAM or CPU error lights. You may need another person to install the updated BIOS on your board, or you might have to use a CPU that works with B550 and manually update the BIOS yourself.

It might also require a BIOS upgrade. You can also simply refresh the BIOS for the MSI model. It offers BIOS flashback functionality. https://www.asus.com/motherboards-compon...B450M-A-II

The BIOS update hasn’t worked yet—no display signal and the DRAM indicator remains. You might want to retry it later.

No, that's an even older motherboard than the B550. No matter what board you get, unless it specifically has the 5600G/5700G bios update already you're going to need to do it yourself. You can, make sure you follow the instructions exactly, it could also just be an issue with the Ram. OLOY is pretty cheap memory, it's possible one or both of the sticks could be bad. Do you have another DDR4 memory kit laying around you could try in the system? Or have a friend who has one you can test in it? That would be the next logical step if doing a bios update doesn't fix it.

I just tried it again but nothing changed—LED stays the same and no signal appears on the monitor. I think I’ll need to replace the RAM. Any suggestions for reliable RAM compatible with your motherboard?

For strong value, TeamGroup kits offer solid DDR4 options. They've been reliable for several builds, working well with both AMD and Intel processors without issues. This CL18 kit (32GB, 2x16GB) runs at 3600mhz and is priced around $65 on Amazon.

If swapping RAM fails, check your motherboard using RMA or a similar process, and once confirmed, proceed with RMAing the CPU since the problem might lie in its memory controller.

It seems the faulty component was the RAM I initially purchased. After switching to the new RAM, the system is functioning properly, and I'm ready to install Windows. Appreciate your assistance!
