Hello, welcome! I'm just getting started with building my PC and have just secured the funds. I'm checking if this exact motherboard is compatible with Xeon processors from the LGA 1150 socket. I'm hoping it will work without any issues.

From the 6th generation onwards, Xeons stopped functioning properly (with a standard BIOS), so it's fine.

Hi there! Please remember you won't be able to use ECC RAM. You'll need standard DDR3 memory.

Sure! I just confirmed that Xeons are available there, which is great. I’m planning to save some money for an upgrade and was considering the i7-4770, but it seems Xeons are more affordable in my area. Thanks for the advice—it really helps! I’m excited to get one soon.

I think most 4th generation Intel chips are being discarded or bundled with complete systems. A while back I purchased an outdated workstation solely for the 4770k chip, which cost $125 while the workstation was only $100. On the other hand, Xeons are server components and many people attempt to revive old servers, dispersing the chips everywhere. Also, second-tier liquidators buy large quantities of servers, dismantle them for parts, and resell what they can. A friend who flipped PCs bought a full server rack a month before the RAM shortage. It contained 20 2U servers, each with 700GB of RAM. He spent $2,000 to bring it home and eventually sold the RAM in small batches for a total of $30,000.
