Hi, My PC doesn't POST. I followed the troubleshooting steps and I arrived at step 10, 'beep code'. I purchased the speaker and attached it to the motherboard. The motherboard LED is turned on (power is running through the motherboard) and when I turn on the PC, the fans start spinning and the case's power LED turns on. However, the speaker is not making any sound. Even if I take out the RAM there is no sound. That means it's a problem with the motherboard or PSU, right? How could I determine which one is broken? P.S. This is not a new build, it's an older computer so one of the parts must have broken down and I am wondering which part I need to replace. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/P72QGL TLDR: is my motherboard or PSU broken? Thanks for any help

The PC consistently emits one gentle beep during startup, but its origin remains unclear. The ASUS A88XM-A manual doesn't list a built-in speaker. The audio appears to work even when the speaker isn't connected to the motherboard.

I removed the CD drive. This model includes an internal SD card reader... Does an SD reader produce any sounds? I’m not entirely sure.

It might be good to consider buying a speaker for connection. It shouldn't be too costly.

I mentioned buying a speaker with a 4-pin buzzer design, but it isn’t producing any sound when linked to the motherboard. That’s the issue you’re facing.

Does the connector have a specific keying pattern? If not, rotate it to see if it works.
