Thanks. As mentioned earlier, this was feasible on older systems. A trustworthy power supply unit is also included. In short, it boils down to having a free high-end graphics card, a decent motherboard (likely), and some RAM. Since the most costly components are already covered, the CPU and PSU should not exceed around $200 together—provided everything functions as intended.
I can purchase a new Ryzen 3600 for $130 at a nearby store...enough to match the 2080ti. There are used Ryzen 5 4000 models listed on my local FB market at the same price, which I’d definitely ask about their condition in person. Best Buy offers a 750W Bronze Corsair PSU for $80...not optimal but functional. These prices are in USD and this isn’t my first search since parts have already arrived. I’m not an “enthusiast,” so I’m not trying to overcomplicate things. I’ve visited these places before with budget machines that still perform well, like my old Optiplex 7010. Even with the money, I wouldn’t have spent on something this expensive unless it was essential. I don’t want to settle for 4K, have no interest in RTX or ultra-high frame rates, and my current setup—Ryzen 4600h/1650ti Legion 5—works just fine for gaming, recording, streaming, and creating. This was a gift from a mining rig; if it functions, it’s more than enough for me. Appreciate your assistance!
Check which five pins are missing from the CPU. Photos would help. The power supply seems functional for the Qflash step, and the motherboard appears to be working too. This note is here to save you from searching later. Spoiler: Can you also share images of the CPU socket?
notes highlighting the missing pin positions in your map (6 pins...countable, promise). quality isn't great. iPhone 12 mini stuff shared too—GPU and PSU photos included. cable mentioned didn't come with this PSU; it was said to be from Cable Mod, but they claimed the GPU would work with that cable on this setup. odd, I know. Still, after getting everything, I trusted my friends' advice. I cleaned and reworked it, though maybe I'll do it again since the paste might not have covered the IHS well enough. safer to be cautious. Comparing the diagram to the CPU shows the leftmost missing pin is GPU-related, while the rightmost ones are linked to memory channel B and 1 VSS connections—probably a mix-up? (He probably messed up, honestly).
This corner is similar to the one featuring the four missing pins in the top left area of the diagram. The top right one is a different configuration.
