HI, the motherboard is an ASUS B85M-G. It supports both an i3 4130 and a Pentium G3220. However, when I install the i5 4460, the system won’t recognize it. I’ve tried updating the BIOS, clearing the CMOS, removing extra devices, and using only one RAM stick. It’s really confusing—I’m not sure what to do next. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks Smile

Have you tested the CPU on a different motherboard? Perhaps the issue lies with the CPU itself since the i3 and Pentium function correctly.

Hello, thank you for your message. It seems the CPU is functioning properly with your current setup, especially since it was recently upgraded last week.

I acquired the cihp from a source that might no longer exist.

It came from my brother's computer; he just upgraded to a 4770, and everything was functioning properly at first, which is unusual.

The reason for the upgrade wasn't specified. It's unclear if he retains his previous equipment. Checking the CPU on his board is possible, but details aren't confirmed.

He only aimed to boost his system's performance. Since I don’t share his space, I’m unable to evaluate it on his board right now.

Hi, I checked the CPU on his board and everything seems to be functioning properly. I also tried it on another board I own, but it didn’t work. I’m not sure what’s happening.
