The motherboard isn't recognizing any RAM.
Hello, I'm working on assembling a PC for my friend and have reached the point where turning it on displays nothing but a black screen. The red DRAM is visible, but no image appears. I've tested every RAM slot with all my sticks and even replaced the CPU to rule out bent pins on the motherboard. According to the build specs, the components listed are compatible, including the exact RAM model available on Gigabyte's site. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Ensure the two sticks are properly connected in the specified slots. If needed, update to the most recent BIOS first—this can enhance memory functionality. Newer BIOS versions typically offer better support. Continue testing one stick at a time to see if it resolves the issue.
I appreciate your input, but unfortunatly it is not of any help. I will provide a more detailed explanation. This is a completely new build and since i cant get a picture i do not have access to the bios. I do not have any replacement ram/mobo. I already tried using a single stick which didnt work either (i tried every slot)
Attempt one stick in slot A2. Connect the GPU and monitor from the GPU. Start it and check if it launches. It may need some time. You might want to reset CMOS by taking out the battery before doing anything else. Keep it away for 5 minutes. Ensure the PSU is off before handling the motherboard. If it doesn't work, flash BIOS version F7 depending on your board revision. Use q-flash plus if needed.
On a motherboard with BIOS flashback, you don’t have to connect to the BIOS directly. The board should have a Q-Flash button on the back that you can press to update it using a USB stick without needing a functional CPU or RAM. You might not know which USB ports are usable—check the manual for details. Use another computer to download the BIOS, save it to a USB drive, and insert it into the specified slot. Press the Q-Flash button. Follow Gigabyte’s guidelines; sometimes you need to extract or rename the downloaded BIOS file. If the system remains unresponsive, it could mean both RAM sticks are faulty or the CPU memory controller is defective.
