I own a Gigabyte B550M DS3h (non-AC) with a BIOS dated 2020. Attempted using Q-Flash, the native tool, to update to the latest BIOS from Gigabyte's site but encountered errors and couldn't read the file.

I've tested 3 AM5 Gigabyte motherboards over the past few months and only a third of them let me flash the UEFI normally. The other two needed the Q-flash system, but the DS3H was the only one that worked. I also faced the same problem where the UEFI would ignore the file. I usually perform the Q-flash update.

Certainly Gigabyte systems often require specific BIOS updates in order. For instance, reaching version 15 could involve flashing version 12, which might then need version 7, and finally version 4. Your board is currently running version 6, so you'll need to adjust accordingly.
