my mother's (asus b550 f gaming) device is stuck inside the case (gigabyte c200) due to a jammed screw in the standoff. When i attempt to remove it, it produces a "clack" sound and snaps back to its tight position. I plan to share a photo to illustrate the jammed screw or standoff. I'm unsure how to proceed, but thank you for your help. Please note my occasional language issues, but i want to be clear about this issue. P.D.: yes, the photo matches my exact case and motherboard as described.

Confirm the standoff isn't spinning freely; ensure each rotation brings the standoff and screw back onto the case threads. If not, the motherboard should detach with the standoff screw and standoff, which maintains separation between the motherboard tray and the board to avoid electrical issues.

Two screwdrivers are involved—one for turning screws and another flat type. Press the flat one against the screw head to add upward force while removing it. If it doesn’t stop clicking, there’s a hidden part spinning behind, as mentioned by Spiderman.

the clack noise originates from the screw, not the standoff. i’ll double-check your idea and ask for more details when i have the time. during my next week off, i plan to follow your advice. thanks for your prompt reply! your guidance is helpful, but could you share a picture of the "flat screw driver" you mentioned? that way i can confirm it’s the right tool. thanks again for your help!

the physical screw is hidden behind the installed graphics card. unfortunately, I can't demonstrate it without taking apart my GPU. a coworker shared that he faced a similar issue with the screw, the standoff, and the motherboard. He explained that he simply used a screwdriver and hit the case's standoff from the back, causing the screw to fall out—though I doubt I have the confidence to try it myself and risk damaging or destroying my motherboard. I’ll update this post next Monday or Tuesday when I have some free time.

Thank you. Did you encounter the same issue? Just to be sure, most folks use pliers for the standoff, but I’m having trouble getting into the right spot where the screw gets stuck.
