I've set up an NVMe SSD in the second M.2 port of my ASUS B450 motherboard, yet it isn't listed in the BIOS or Windows settings. The front M.2 slot can handle both NVMe and SATA, which is why my existing SATA drive works properly. The rear slot only supports NVMe and shares bandwidth with the x16 graphics card port—plugging an SSD should lower the graphics card speed to x8. I suspect an issue with PCIe lane allocation: my graphics card drivers and BIOS indicate x8, but the BIOS tool shows "PCIe x16" which seems odd. I recall swapping the two M.2 slots after realizing the SATA drive didn't function in the back (it only supports NVMe). The drive is fully seated—no visible pads. I've updated to the newest BIOS version and adjusted related settings like CSM, but nothing has resolved the problem. Windows 10 Home 64-bit Asus ROG STRIX B450-I (BIOS 4801, latest) AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (no overclocking) 2x8GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4-3200 Sapphire Radeon RX 580 8 GB NITRO+ Samsung 960 EVO M.2 NVMe SSD (500GB) placed in M.2_2 back side (not visible), Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SATA SSD (500GB) in M.2_1 front side (appears), Samsung 860 EVO SATA SSD in M.2_1 (shows up), boot drive connected via standard SATA (visible). Corsair SF 600 (600W 80+ gold)
