Hello, I just put together a new PC and... it’s not working. -Power supply Corsair RM1000e -Motherboard ASUS TUF Gaming B650 Plus WiFi -AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D -Zotac RTX4070 12GB DDR4, cooling system and SSD... I attempted to turn it on but nothing happened. I’ve removed everything except the motherboard, power supply, and processor... still nothing. The cables are properly connected and placed. Once I power it up, only a faint ticking is audible... even without the CPU on the motherboard... What should I do? Any advice?

Do you have extra components or another machine to test them on? Or someone nearby who can assist with finding replacements?

Beyond cables, ensure you’ve disconnected every component carefully and verify no unintended connections exist. Look at the back of the board for any components that might be touching the case. The sound could signal a spark or a protective click from the PSU. If a short occurs or an electrical part contacts the wrong place—like the case—it may trigger protection mechanisms. Also check for any screws, debris, or extra supports that could be pressing the board against the case.
