I own a gaming PC with an MSI B360 and 2666 MHz DDR RAM. I turned on XMP to achieve the listed speed, but it caps at 2400. System details: CPU i3 8100, GPU GTX 1060, 6GB G.Skill DDR4 at 2666 MHz, 8GB total.
