You’re assembling your first PC and everything seems to be set, but when you power it up the motherboard flickers briefly before it completely fails. Initially we assumed the power supply was the issue, but even after swapping another PSU it didn’t work. Now we’re focusing on the motherboard, though we don’t have clear specs to guide us: it’s model A520 AORUS ELITE, equipped with a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GPU, Ryzen 5 5600 CPU, 970 EVO plus SSD, and a PSU from Enermax Revolution D.F. along with a Corsair CX 650 M.

Removing the power supply unit and turning the machine on by connecting the green wire to ground might cause the PSU to activate. If it does, it’s probably the motherboard that’s responsible.

You seem uncertain about something. What do you need clarification on?

It doesn’t really ignite, just starts for a brief moment. The board’s logo glows briefly, and there’s a faint white flash beside it, though I’m not certain its importance.

Similar to this. That old GamersNexus clip still managed to get a chuckle from me. However, it remains a solid and well-made video.

I'm new to setting up a PC, so this might be unfamiliar for me.

The PSU functioned properly after being evaluated on a completely different computer.

No, I'm not mixing PCI-e cables.
