I own an MSI B550M MAG MORTAR with a Ryzen 5 3600 (liquid cooled, OC up to 4.3Ghz), GTX 1650S, KLEVV DDR4 CRASS X RGB PC25600 3200MHz 16GB (2x8GB), and an Enermax MaxPro II 500W 80+ white. I was aiming to refresh nearly everything for editing purposes, so I intended to boost my RAM to 32GB (four 8GB modules). I realized during setup that I initially installed the RAM in slots 1 and 3, which ran at around 2333MHz or 2666MHz. When I tried enabling XMP or manually adjusting the frequency, the system refused to boot and insisted the RAM should be placed in slots 2 and 4. My question is whether this issue stems from the motherboard or if there are BIOS settings I need to adjust. Additionally, I was thinking about upgrading my GPU to an RTX3070 next year—should I also consider replacing the CPU with a Ryzen 5000? I worry that if the 3600 stays bottlenecked, I might end up needing a CPU upgrade to a 3080 and a Ryzen 9 5900.
