Currently, we're still in the early stages without complete systems for shields, weapons, or other critical components. That means we can't comment on any ship's capabilities. If you have confidence in their work, they should deliver what they promise. I've spoken with the team and am impressed by their expertise. Any opinions about ships right now are just guesses at best.
They also have a post in the Reddit thread about resizing packages. I got myself a budget-friendly promo code for the Mustang Omega.
The credits cover vessel rentals and improvements are made using actual funds.
According to what I understand, this applies only until the game launches, after which ships can be purchased with in-game currency. Someone might update this if they have different information, but I believed real-money purchases would support development, while all earnings would come from in-game activities post-launch.
That's mostly accurate. There might be certain special editions available only through a commitment, but otherwise it works fine.
The strategy is confirmed. Once the universe unlocks all pledge choices, all ships will only be purchasable with in-game currency. There will be small transactions in game currency, though they’re expected to be restricted. (I’ll locate a source and update later.) This change will prevent players from buying ships using real money entirely. Edit: added image, sorry for the phone photo.
