The monitor requires 2 hours to activate without using a hair dryer
It's quite strange, but true. It took almost 4 hours for the monitor to power up when I put it in my garage during winter. At room temperature, it usually takes around 30 minutes to an hour. However, using a hair dryer reduces the time to just 2 minutes. What might be causing this issue? I’m trying to fix it myself because it’s quite old. It seems related to capacitors, given that it’s nearly 15 years old and has an LCD display. Could the heat impact the capacitors’ performance? Or is it connected to the panel itself?
Also worth noting: before heating, the power light stays on steadily without flashing. But once it gets close to turning on, it starts blinking and sometimes the screen flickers briefly—showing a picture for a moment before returning to normal, then working perfectly afterward. Once it powers on, I can unplug it, turn it off and back on, and it works instantly. The problem only appears when it’s cold after it’s been off for a while. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Yes, the capacitor is quite old—about 99%. Testing its temperature changes helps determine if it's causing the problem.
