wah.mp4 Ryzen 5600g 16gb ram B450MX-S NO GPU My Friend's PC monitor keeps turning on and off it still plays audio when it does this and never shuts down only the monitor keeps turning on and off. Ive had them switched the ram slots since when they sent a pic it was incorrect but still the same issue. I wish i could just come over to their house to fix it myself but they live so far away. Any ideas what could cause this? (BLURRED THE FACE/SCREEN OF PRIVACY)

A defective video cable might be the issue. Try using a different cable, even one from a low-cost store should work. You can also check your monitor on another computer or device such as a Blu-ray player. Additionally, test the computer with another monitor or TV. Good luck!

Perhaps it's attempting to correct itself. Honestly, what the other person mentioned.

Truly, the easiest verifications tend to be the most ignored. When you courteously request a system restart, many respond with frustration or pretend otherwise, thinking you're being impolite since it seems so basic they overlooked it.

They’re connecting a VGA cable from the monitor to an HDMI port on the PC. Could this setup be contributing to the problem?

It could be related, but not certain. I switched from HDMI to VGA in the past and it worked fine. Like any cable, they might wear out or stop functioning properly. That's why checking with a different cable is a good idea. Still, you can verify if the computer works with a TV or another HDMI device using the same monitor to see if the problem persists.
