My computer has been experiencing this problem for some time now. It seems to randomly shut down to a black screen while the fans speed up. You can still hear voices and people talking, but there’s no clear signal. I’ve had this issue on two different builds. The only changes I made were updating my storage and using a 3070 processor. After stress testing, it runs fine under all conditions, though I still encounter black screens occasionally—sometimes one day and not the next. I reset all my drivers with DDU, performed a CMOS reset, and stopped using the display port cable. It became more stable then, but I still get this problem at least once or twice daily. It’s really annoying.
Some users are employing a third power cable for the 6-2 split while only using a third cable for the two-pin setup, which may seem unusual.
I tried another setup with a Ryzen 7 2700X and a 3070 GPU. It would also freeze under the same power supply issue, but now it’s happening more sporadically this time. I just upgraded to a completely new PC two weeks ago, and the problem is less frequent this round.
