Today, I noticed my ddr4 memory(g.skill ripjaws v) was at 1066 mhz when it should be at 1499 mhz as it was sold to be able to reach 3000 mhz. I went into bios to change the speed back to that value through XMP profiles and now those problems from the title popped up.
PC boots with fans on but there is no power output to the rest of my peripherals. Did both the CMOS jumper and CMOS battery trick several times following a video exactly and even waited up to 30 minutes for a trial. Nothing worked.
Gpu and intel graphics still work so it’s not that and the motherboard might be fine, but idk yet.
What I did notice was that if I took out my ram sticks and booted, the computer was the same with fans on but peripherals had no power.
So I’m wondering if I killed my ram sticks and this is why not even CMOS resets work.
I will try to do a final CMOS reset overnight and if that isn’t it, I will ask a friend to hook me up for a stick to test this out. If anyone has a similar experience with these symptoms or any advice left to give please offer as I feel as if I’ve done everything.
SOLVED: For those who read, the mistake was not repositioning the RAM correctly since my slots had a latch mechanism on one side and I assumed it was fully seated. You should hear two clicks each time you install the RAM sticks. The CMOS resets did function, but I removed the RAM because I believed a CMOS reset was necessary.
