First PC setup, pressed power switch but nothing happened. Inspected at a service center—PSU functions well, motherboard shows no signs of damage, no scratches or noises when powering on. I’m wondering what’s the absolute minimum required for a PC to start (fans spinning, power button lighting up)? Should I check the PSU, ensure the power connector is secure, and verify the fan cables are properly connected?

Verify the CPU socket for bent pins, reattach RAM, ensure every power cable is securely attached, then confirm the power button functions properly and matches its designated pins.

It varies by motherboard; some allow BIOS updates even before booting.

Absolutely, that's a valid observation. I didn't notice AM4 during that session on my X370 and R9 5900X setup.

Have you experimented with cutting the power connectors on the motherboard?

I didn’t see it boot, but I thought about updating it after startup. It might not work if your motherboard doesn’t support it. The GB450M DS3H chipset is compatible with Ryzen 5500 CPUs, but you need to check your specific model. You can look up your motherboard’s supported versions online or use a tool like CPU-Z to verify compatibility without powering on.

I understand, thanks. I'm going to rebuild the PC and I'm hoping everything works out. If I mess up the setup, I might not be able to boot the motherboard because of the wrong version.

I think there shouldn't be a gap here. The socket on the motherboard doesn't match the gap.
