Am I the only one noticing that some believe 16GB is now the minimum even for simple activities on Windows 11? This isn't accurate at all. Even with a dual-core processor and just 4GB of RAM, you can handle everyday tasks like checking email, watching YouTube, reading news, browsing social media, writing documents in Word, using Excel, and more. It might feel slow, but it's still manageable. Why do some people claim 16GB is necessary now?

16GB is the lowest requirement for gaming. Some games won’t even function with less memory. If you’re not playing games, it’s fine—you can get by with less. However, an SSD is essential for Windows 11. A mechanical HDD makes Windows 11 nearly impossible to use.

Windows 11 with 8GB performs better than Windows 10 with the same amount of RAM, which is unusual. Microsoft also mentions 16GB for Copilot++ PC.

Almost all applications function smoothly with 16GB of RAM. There are certain games that require at least 16GB to operate properly. For instance, I encountered an issue when trying to run RDR2 on a system with only 8GB of RAM.
