The microphone noise cancellation or suppression feature isn't functioning on Windows 10.
Hello, I recently had a [clean] installation of Windows 10. That was an impressive upgrade, but I’m facing some problems. I use a lot of Skype and in Windows 7 during calls, people couldn’t hear the background noise or sounds from my speakers—even when listening to music or videos at loud volumes. Now with Windows 10, everyone does it, which is really bothersome because all the background noise is now audible. I tried adjusting Sound > Recording > Microphone > Enhancements and enabled Noise Suppression and Acoustic Echo Cancellation, but those options didn’t help much. I recall Windows 7 offered more control settings for these features. Also, the HD Audio Manager seems to be missing, and I can’t install drivers anymore since they just reinstall automatically. Another issue is with the Microphone settings: when adjusting Levels, the microphone volume is set to 50 and Boost is at 0. Even though the boost is off, the mic doesn’t pick up any sound—it sounds muted. Could you assist me with this?
