You just installed a new PC and the microphone isn’t functioning even though Windows identifies it. The audio still works, but the mic in another device does. Your system specs are: Asus H510 M E5 i5 11400F GTX 1660 TI with 16GB RAM DDR4, MSI 500W PSU.

The device connects to the PC via USB or 3.5mm analog inputs. Verify the port type is input+output for analog. For combo ports, a splitter may be necessary to separate line out and mic in signals. In the Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound section, check the Recording area for detected microphones and their status indicators. Ensure the device is set as the default and the correct app uses it.
