I purchased a 256 GB Samsung Evo Micro SD card for my Nintendo Switch and it has functioned adequately over time. After reinstalling Windows on my laptop and wiping the card again, it now shows 20 GB when connected to the Switch. I attempted to reformat it using Windows 11, trying EXFAT, FAT32, NTFS, but none resolved the issue.

Find the partition manager. It probably generated a 20 GB drive, which is what remains after formatting. You’d need to remove the existing partition and set up a fresh one.

Navigate to Disk Management, check for free areas. Removing a partition is simple. Click right-click, delete, then right-click again to set up.

I can't take screenshots directly. However, you can capture the screen by pressing Win+Shift+S on your keyboard.

The partition issue might stem from recent changes or system errors.

SD cards offer poor performance for long-term use. Many photographers use two SD cards in their gear but discard one as soon as it fills up.

They destroy it for reasons unknown, but their audience seems to react badly. When I tested the game on my setup, I saw signs of overheating, which might explain why people are so quick to discard it.
