I received an Asus prebuilt as a gift from my dad and I'm aiming for a 3060 Ti this Christmas. Last night I decided to work on removing the GPU so I could install the new one. I had already taken the GPU out of the PCIe express slot and attempted to pull it out, but there was something metallic preventing it. It was attached to the vent above the ports and connected to the case. I have a photo attached below. You can see inside the blue circles what's holding it back. (sorry for my poor English)

Check the exterior, you'll likely see a screw securing a metal clip in these constructions

Sorry about the poor quality, I can't access the PC yet but there are a few clips preventing removal. It seems it won't come off easily.

it's a weak type of "shim" connecting the case to the PCIe card, likely for grounding and reducing EMI. some manufacturers prefer it because it tends to slip easily. just gently shake it—sometimes it will loosen or pop out with the GPU, allowing you to adjust it back into place. i’ve had to repeat this with an old prebuilt case every time i removed the cards.

The rear panel of the computer. There’s an object securing the GPU bracket.

I have some fresh images. You can notice the teeth are curved.

Well, adjusting is the best approach. If it’s jammed in the vent hole, simply let it return to its original shape; the GPU will handle it better than any makeshift fix.

I'm worried about damaging the GPU or the MOBO. I'm trying to stay calm and more confident.
