The MEG Z490 ACE fails to power on.
I was assembling a PC using an MSI MEG Z490 ACE ATX and after putting it together it wouldn’t power on. Once the PSU (Gigabyte P750GM) is turned on, the mainboard lights activate. When you power up the PC, you notice a click from the PSU but nothing happens. Even without any components connected, the same occurs. Without a CPU, GPU, or boot drive, the mainboard should display an error message, shouldn’t it? The PSU functions correctly and I’ve already tested another unit. There’s also no voltage detected at the mainboard test points. I’ve returned the motherboard twice, assuming it was defective. I attempted to flash a new BIOS and reset CMOS. My main concern is: does the mainboard need to perform any action when powered on, even without installed hardware? Please advise. Thank you.
Activate only when the 24-pin connector is connected. Test the 3.3V DRAM voltage controller and power via USB at 5V. Then connect the 8-pin and verify the 12V rail.
