The ideal maximum memory speed depends on your system configuration. For your Ryzen 7 7700X, pairing it with a Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX ATX motherboard typically supports up to 6400MHz RAM. Ensure your memory modules are compatible with this speed and consider using a maximum speed kit if you need higher performance.

The ideal frequency AMD suggests is 6000 MHz, but adjusting it higher or lower depends on your specific needs and system compatibility.

I assessed the situation and just wanted to confirm! Would you mind suggesting some specific kits? I’m aiming to stay under 200 for memory and can reuse any sticks later.

The officially approved maximum speed is 5200MT/s, yet nearly all chips support memory speeds from around 6000MT/s to 6400MT/s. Aim for a package with 5600MT/s to 6000MT/s, matching your memory timings. Frequency matters most for DDR5 systems. You can push your setup higher if desired, but a 5600MT/s model should handle up to 6400MT/s and you can push the memory controller further. On Ryzen 7000, speed gains are limited since RAM performance doesn't increase much beyond that point.
