When I turned on my computer, the mouse cursor shifted from black to white unexpectedly. This happened whenever I used search bars in browsers like Firefox or Windows search menus. Normally, the mouse settings displayed a black color, but now it shows a white icon. It was different the previous day. Since I had recently installed something, I thought it might be an Nvidia driver issue. That fix resolved the strange red plus icons, but after reinstalling the standard driver, the white color returned. The problem only appears when HDR is enabled.

Taking screenshots of the mouse marker appears black, but you notice it's white in your view.

You adjusted the cursor to reverse the background color, which is part of your accessibility settings. You can find this in Settings > Ease of Access > Mouse. Unfortunately, I can't provide further details at the moment.

Apologies for the confusion. I didn't assume you were using Windows 10. Let me know if you need assistance with an older version.
