I don't believe it's justified to pay an extra 10% for gains below 5%, and that's just my perspective.

I received my 3900XT at the same cost as the 3900X. It's interesting to see it occasionally reach up to 4.8GHz on its strongest core, though aside from that... the benchmark scores match the 3900X in the exact same system with no noticeable real-world difference.

3900XT is essentially 3950X silicon with 12 cores; if you're not into overclocking, it doesn't add much value.
