She borrowed my Mac for her university assignment, but it won’t power up anymore. The files are still there, yet it’s not responding. I’ve pressed the power button for ten seconds without any effect. No sound, no lights—just silence. File ID: VID_20251130_104719.mp4

Check all USB ports carefully; it’s possible one of the controllers is damaged. There might be two units involved. If troubleshooting fails, you’ll likely need board-level repairs, which could involve corrosion, faulty USB-C controllers, or issues with power lines. For such cases, seek a professional who can handle repairs at the hardware level. If you’re in the US, consider sending it to Rossmann Repair Group. Keep in mind, this repair isn’t inexpensive—expect costs between $200 and $300 minimum—but it might be worth it if the data is critical. Regardless of the solution, make sure they learn good backup practices like using iCloud, Google Drive, or external drives, especially if data protection hasn’t been covered before.

Check the provided link; it previously helped me. If it fails, your battery may be damaged. Eight years is quite long for a battery. If the issue persists, consider visiting a repair service—MacBooks likely won't function properly without a working battery, even if they're connected to power.
