I've been exchanging messages with Apple Support repeatedly. It hasn't been possible to connect with someone who has strong technical knowledge, yet they indicated that the M4 Pro chip doesn't handle display output as effectively as the M3 Pro. This affects my M4 Pro Mac Mini I was trying out—it couldn't render HDR, which is essential for editing HDR files. They explained it's because only devices with built-in displays can perform all tasks at scaled resolutions, so I switched to a MacBook. Interestingly, similar problems appeared with Sequoia on the M3 Pro, suggesting a possible unresolved issue in the M4 kernel. I have an open support ticket, but I'm pretty certain the representative I spoke with linked my case to another problem. Would you consider following up for Tier 2 assistance? Others have reported similar challenges with the M4—do you think it's related to display capabilities or a broader hardware limitation?
