I encountered an unusual issue... After playing games, the next day everything seemed fine until I turned on my PC and saw that message (An operating system wasn’t found. Try disconnecting any drives that don’t contain an operating system). I’ve tried several solutions: moved my M.2 to another PC, which also showed the error; placed my brother’s M.2 in mine, but it didn’t work or appeared in BIOS; checked the BIOS for any indication, but nothing came up. I removed the CMOS battery for 15 minutes and reinserted it, but it didn’t help. Please, any advice would be appreciated—I have important data stored there.

PC specs:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X
- GPU: 1660 SUPER
- RAM: 16x2 CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO Series DDR4
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B450
- M.2 NVMe PCIe drive: Team Group

unplugging the battery often fails. switch off the power supply, locate the two pins at the base of your board for BIOS/CC, and short them.

Seems like you've exhausted all options, so it probably stopped working.

It seems it might be inactive. I understand.

Check the voltage with a multimeter—it should read close to 3.0 V. It can be as straightforward as confirming a dead battery.
