Hi, I've owned my 2TB Samsung 970 EVO SSD for around 18 months and it's still being used mainly for small games like Smite, Elden Ring and Genshin Impact. Recently, while playing Genshin, the game closed unexpectedly, so I thought it might be a server issue. I tried reopening it several times but kept getting crashes. After a restart, the BIOS reported nothing was detected in the M.2 bay, which resolved the problem temporarily. Now that I haven't opened my PC in a month, I'm still unsure what caused it and how to avoid it again. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Run CrystalDiskMark on your SSD and check Task Manager for unusually fast responses. Previously, mine had a response time above 1 second before failing. Location details aren't important—RMA validity remains effective for 18 months worldwide.
