The LG screen isn't working at 144Hz for 4K resolution.
I'm working with a LG 27GN95R-B 27" UHD display. It's still within the return period on Newegg. I'm pairing it with a ROG G15 2022 laptop running a Ryzen 7 6800H and an RTX 3060. Currently, I can't run it at 4K 144Hz; the graphics settings only show 4K 60Hz or 2K 120Hz in the NVIDIA control panel. Attached are screenshots for reference.
The laptop display showing the video at a lower resolution than 4K144.
I owned a gigabyte monitor that functioned well with my setup for 4K at 144Hz. Switching to LG caused signal problems, making it unreliable. I found out LG only supports HDMI 2.0 ports. Can you locate a trustworthy cable for connecting DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1?
27GN95R-B lacks HDMI 2.1 functionality, requiring a native DisplayPort connection to a DSC-compatible computer. 27GP950-B supports HDMI 2.1 ports. Refer to your manual’s help section for details. You may achieve native 4K@144Hz output from your laptop using a Type C to DisplayPort cable as suggested in the guide. A link is provided: https://www.newegg.ca/p/183-00JP-00029. Keep in mind, cheaper models with only 4K60 support might still work due to differences in compression handling.
It functioned well with the display port for typing a C cable. Appreciate the help again.
