My system performs much slower now compared to before the Windows update. It affects everything—games, applications, and browsers. The only change was updating Windows itself. Previously, I kept Windows updated, which would trigger new updates automatically. Now, no updates appear to be downloading. In the past, I relied on regular updates; they helped maintain stability. Currently, my components show no bottlenecks in Task Manager. A game once ran smoothly at 120 FPS, but now it struggles to hit even 30 FPS, with the GPU using only 30% of its capacity. I own a 7900 XTX and have the newest AMD drivers installed. I've tried several fixes: reinstalling GPU drivers, uninstalling the update (which didn’t work), upgrading to Windows 11, and reaching out to Microsoft support. They recommended using the Command Prompt in admin, running sfc /scannow, performing a system restore, or using an in-place upgrade. Interestingly, the process was completed quickly—almost overnight. I updated Windows before bed, and the next day it felt like using a budget laptop. No additional downloads or changes were made.

It didn’t provide a clear error code. Instead, it mentioned an issue with removing the update, possibly related to security. I had to reset the system, which resolved the problem.
