I possess two W11 systems (22H2). One is in my signature and an approved W11 model, while the other is a 6100-series CPU that can be installed using the Rufus tool. I haven’t turned off the automatic update feature since I wanted to check for any problems first, and I don’t require the newest features. The pause for updates is set to one week. My expectation was that 23H2 would install about a week after its release. Since October ended, it’s now almost a month later. Will it appear automatically or should I enable the update option to get 23H2? For non-security patch updates, I prefer to be cautious and wait, which is why I set the one-week delay. I’m also wondering if security patches are still available for 23H2, or if they’re delayed until I allow it. With my older 6100 system, I’m a bit curious about its compatibility. As far as I can see, I only receive MS Defender updates so far; I’m not sure I’m missing out on security updates yet.

Microsoft states that Windows 11 22H2 will remain supported through October 2024: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/window...nformation. It's typical for Microsoft to release major updates gradually rather than all at once. A month can feel like a long time, but it might just mean you were among the final recipients of the patch.

I'll wait another month to check if my new rig with official W11 support works. Then I'll test my older, unofficial version too. Why do they release different versions? It might be because they want to avoid deploying it all at once or because bandwidth limits require spreading the downloads over time.

Mainly to avoid wiping everything at once if something goes wrong. Distributing the data usage probably brings extra benefits.

These two explanations seem most probable. Running a rollout rather than pushing the feature update to every PC simultaneously reduces the risk of widespread issues. It also eases pressure on Microsoft’s servers by avoiding massive simultaneous downloads.

I examined that and found it a bit hard to follow. In the state displayed in your previous screenshot, there’s no delay. If you need a one-week or longer pause, press that button—then it will activate and appear at the top of the window. "Check of Updates" will change to "Resume Updates".

In short, none of the attempts in the settings managed to remove it. The most effective method I discovered was creating an ISO of the newest release and using the installer to finish the update.

The PC specs still show 22H2 but activation says it's activated. I found a guide that claims to force the update, though step one already changed my screen and removed the reserved partition. I'm feeling a bit anxious about making changes without proper setup. Could it be that Microsoft hasn't fully rolled out the update yet? Or is there an issue I need to fix? I remember being too eager when I first posted this, but after two months they should have completed the updates, right? There are already discussions about 24H2 now. Yes, I've been restarting and checking updates frequently. Other updates seem to appear as well.

I solved the problem and both my W11 machines now have 23H2 enabled. It functions well on my new setup with TPM as well as my older non-TPM system. I added this activation bundle, which seems to address a recognized concern.
