I decided to start GTA V with mods enabled, and it began updating automatically. Now my mods aren’t functioning properly, and since the latest update arrived today, no one has updated their mods—especially the one I really rely on. I’m really frustrated because I don’t want any more updates, the previous one worked perfectly, and the mods kept everything running smoothly. They’re the only reason I enjoy playing the game. Ugh, this is frustrating! Why can’t I disable those automatic updates? I just want to play the version that works without extra changes. Thanks for hearing me out—or reading my thoughts.

Avoid altering games with ongoing active support. Updates for GTA5 are common.

Yes, you can try other options besides CRI and you may be able to upgrade to a previous release.

I attempted that, but it didn't work. You're lying.

Take it easy, stay patient. Updates usually roll out after a short period.

Use System Restore then disable automatic updates for GTA V (click right-click > properties > updates).

restarting the system only changes settings, not files. I’ve already verified whether I could disable automatic updates before, and it looks like there isn’t one—just options to schedule updates manually or limit them to after launching the game.

It seems you'd like me to suggest the next steps instead of acting directly. I was expecting you to clarify what you'd prefer. Let's figure this out together.

In Steam, right-click GTA V, go to Properties, make the changes, and then choose to update only when launching the game. It appears this setting prevents updates even after launching.
