Every fifteen minutes a notification pops up warning that updates aren’t installing properly, confusing me while playing games. I’ve attempted manual updates, but they don’t resolve the issue. Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Restart your computer and halt all applications. Turn off Steam, Origin, and any device management tools such as Corsair Link—close everything. Then try a manual update. If the problem persists, restart again and retry. It appears you're dealing with a file-lock situation where the operating system can't install the update without stopping a program that's using a file it needs to overwrite.

I would use Microsoft Safety Scanner and the latest version of Microsoft Malicious Software Removal tool. I’d also download Malwarebytes and execute it. Occasionally a virus blocks security updates from installing. Besides that, ensure your operating system drive is not full.

You can obtain the update from the catalog and install it manually if necessary. This generally functions properly.
