The key points are summarized in the comments: the upcoming benchmarks are uncertain, but AMD and Intel’s latest chips are the main focus for CPU choices in the next few years. Intel revealed its 8-core option on UserBenchmark, while AMD followed with sample results. Comparing the i9 10850K and Ryzen 5800X showed AMD’s performance is catching up, especially with price differences. Intel’s pricing strategy could backfire if they don’t adjust. The upcoming 11th-gen releases will likely shift the market, with AMD aiming for better multithreading and possibly moving to a new architecture. The future may see more competition, especially if AMD improves its pricing and performance.

Consider a more accurate comparison before drawing conclusions. UserBenchmark often questions such rankings, noting discrepancies like an i3 8350K being higher than an i9 9980XE in effective speed.

many purchase overclocked versions just for fun on the 8350k. most tests with large sample sizes tend to be reliable.

people often comment on this because it highlights the rapid advancements in technology. having an i3 processor with 5GHz speeds is a common benchmark for performance and speed.

5GHz is decent, but a CPU's performance depends on more than just speed. The userbenchmark scores might not reflect real-world usage accurately, and their calculation method looks questionable. It seems like good reviews appear quickly.

Intel's 11th generation chips will remain at 14nm according to their lithography plans, though the 11700k is expected to be 10nm instead. The 12th generation Intel should likely use 10nm. Updated November 5, 2020 by Coolmaster

That's a pretty massive misconception. Quantity =/= quality, if you don't control for variables then all the data is useless. Lest Intel drive their investors to suicide
