Hello everyone!
I recently upgraded my PSU to accommodate a more powerful graphics card, but my computer still won’t start.
Right now, only the power cable, CPU cable, and motherboard cable are connected; nothing else.
When I switch on the main power switch of the PSU, the system powers up briefly—motherboard lights come on—and then when I press the computer’s main power button, the fans (CPU and PSU) start for a split second before stopping completely.
After that, the main power switch no longer responds; I have to turn off and then back on the PSU.
I’ve connected the 24-pin motherboard and 8-pin processor cables correctly, but I can’t seem to get better results. My hands are getting numb from the repeated effort.
My old PSU still works fine.
I’ve also tried removing the CMOS battery and reinserting it, but the problem persists. I’ve even connected it directly to a grounded wall outlet instead of using an extension cord—maybe that helps?
Still no resolution.
Motherboard: Asus Prime B350 Plus
New PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 11 600W (BN294, not modular)
Old PSU: Fractal Design Integra M 450W (modular)
Could it be that one of the +4 pin connections isn’t secure? The Fractal model has a single +4 pin, while the CPU and motherboard connectors are all combined.
I’m really unsure what I’m doing wrong and feel stuck.
Thanks!
I adjusted my question after your reply, but the be quiet has fixed cables—it's not the modular version. I can only use the cables that come with it. At most, I could connect the main power cable of the Fractal, but it won't start with that or its own; I've tried both. However, the Fractal starts with the be quiet's power cable.
