I recently decided to assemble my first gaming PC. I collected all the parts and powered it on, so far everything is running smoothly. To ensure performance, I ran a timespy test to check how well the system was performing. My CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, and the GPU is a ZOTAC RTX 3080Ti OC. The detailed specs are attached below. My benchmark results were 17,115 for the overall score, 19,127 for the GPU, and 10,725 for the CPU. The CPU score was a bit lower than expected, so I’m looking into possible upgrades or fixes to boost speed. As a beginner in PC building, I’m open to any advice and appreciate your help ahead!

PC specs: CPU – AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
GPU – ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, 12GB VRAM
Motherboard – ASUS Prime B550-Plus
RAM – Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (16*2) DDR4 3200
Storage – WD Black 1TB SN770 NVMe internal SSD
Cooling – Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black CPU cooler
Power Supply – Corsair RM series (2021), RM 850, 850W, Gold certified
Case – Corsair 4000D Airflow with tempered glass
Monitor – Samsung LC2R4G50, 1080P, 144Hz refresh rate.

Looks typical to me. My 3080 with 10GB no upgrade gives around 17.6K in Timespy, while the 5900X with a 13.4K 3080Ti is about 10% quicker, reaching roughly 19.5K. At 1080p and 144Hz you’ll usually hit CPU or refresh limits, so higher scores won’t matter in practice.

This result might reflect various factors such as background processes, background tasks, or slightly higher temperatures affecting performance. With a Hyper 212 CPU, the processor could run warmer in that specific area, leading to reduced boost scores. The GPU performance is likely tied to the same power constraints mentioned. Overall, it doesn’t seem like a major concern.

The system appears to be functioning properly, with stable outcomes from the 3D Mark Stress test across multiple loops. It seems the 1080p display and CPU cooler might have limited performance. I’d likely upgrade those components later this year, especially since the monitor is quite old and was used for console gaming.
