I own a vintage laptop from 2014, the XPS13-9333 with an I5 4200u and a 4400 series iGPU that suited my needs for light gaming and web browsing. Recently, I switched to a newer Yoga 370 model featuring an upgraded Intel 620 iGPU and a 7200u CPU. Despite these upgrades, performance in games like Stardew Valley and League of Legends remains subpar—often around 30 fps or with stutters even when settings match the old machine. I’ve set power plans to maximum performance, adjusted BIOS for more memory allocation, but nothing has improved. Previously, on League I achieved smooth 110+ FPS and steady 90 FPS in Stardew. Now the new laptop struggles with similar tasks. What’s happening? All drivers are current, Razor Boost isn’t making a difference, games are prioritized correctly, and Windows was recently reinstalled. Thermal readings look normal. Benchmarks: XPS13 9333 and Yoga 370.

Sure, the device is connected and runs the same setup as before

the igpu hits its highest usage at 40% but then drops unpredictably, leading to heavy stuttering. the cpu remains around 60% while memory stays steady at 4gb. it’s unclear why it’s not running better despite having stronger specs, and I’ve adjusted all possible settings to top performance.
