Everything is completely fresh... it keeps happening even now... no one has studied this issue before...
I've turned it off and disabled HDR. Windows says my monitor isn't supported. I'm using a Samsung G9 ultra wide. I updated the firmware with a USB stick, but nothing seems to work consistently—sometimes it quits, sometimes it stays on. I'm sure it's an issue inside the computer, not the monitor, since I've used it with my lap extension without problems. I don't see any leaks or weak connections; everything is new. Any other settings you could suggest? Thanks!
Yes, it can occur when connecting the monitor directly to the mainboard and removing the GPU. Your setup is solid overall, but adjusting the tube bends at a 90-degree angle and adding a cooling block could help improve performance.
It looks like this monitor is affecting my performance quite a bit. I've been running it smoothly with two screens and two display ports, but it's now limiting me to 120 frames per second instead of the full 240fps. The ultra-wide aspect ratio and weird resolutions are making things even harder. I'm considering switching to a triple setup or a dual monitor in the future. Thanks to everyone who pointed this out—it might be the monitor itself. It still feels odd how it worked well on my GTX1070, but hopefully this helps others facing similar issues with a Samsung G9 49in display.
I own a Samsung G7 32-inch. About two years back, with HDR enabled, I could only see half of the screen in the middle at 240Hz. When HDR was off or set to 166, everything worked fine. It seemed like a Windows/driver problem that caused the issue. The fix came from updating the monitor's firmware. Now I only use GSync in fullscreen, but it still shows HDR flickering on and off.
