I recently assembled a new setup, and an odd problem has arisen. Initially, pressing the power button fails to start the system. The CPU diagnostic indicator flashes red, and the fans spin briefly before everything stops. After a short pause, restarting the power button works fine, allowing normal operation—games, browsing, etc.—making it mostly just an inconvenience. I’m not overly concerned, but my Corsair iCUE software frequently disconnects from RAM and prevents me from controlling peripherals. The only solution is uninstalling and reinstalling the software, which I’ve done multiple times. It seems this issue might be linked to that one.

System details: Mobo: B650 Aorus Elite, CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GPU: Radeon 6800 XT, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 X2 (16GB), Power supply: EVGA SuperNova 750 GS, running Windows 10.

For context, this has occurred consistently whenever I attempt to boot it. During initial setup, a warning appeared: "New CPU installed. fTPM NV corrupted or fTPM NV structure changed." Options were given to reset or keep the previous configuration. After pressing N, the boot resumed normally. However, subsequent attempts always triggered the message again, prompting me to press Y. Eventually, I pressed Y and the system booted without issues.

Another puzzling aspect is the behavior when powering off: after a few seconds of inactivity, the system restarts immediately, then boots again smoothly once I press the power button. This only happens if I wait a short time before turning it back on. No one has shared troubleshooting tips yet, but I haven’t explored much online yet.

Reviewed the most recent bios. Verified that the power button and connectors are securely connected. Tested disabling hibernation and Fast Startup.

Just verify the CMOS battery. It's not the main issue, but it's simple to check and inexpensive to swap.

Hi, I've already tried all three options, but the issue persists. I haven't tested this one yet—I'll give it another shot tomorrow and let you know. Appreciate the help!

What model are you working with?
Is the power switch functioning properly?
Have you attempted to start the device without connecting the front panel headers, instead using a screwdriver to power it on?

My situation: MUSETEX ATX PC Case Pre-Install 6 PWM ARGB Fans, Mid Tower Gaming Case with Opening Tempered Glass Side Panel Door, Mesh Computer Case, TW8. I've tested it before. I unplugged the cables and used a screwdriver to start it—still no issue. First power-up gave a brief CPU flash, then it booted normally. It's odd behavior. I believed I fixed it yesterday after reconnecting the power headers, but this morning when I turned it on again, it failed again. I'm planning to reset the CMOS to see if that helps.

The CMOS battery appears to be in good condition. After resetting the CMOS, the problem persisted, only slowing down the boot time. It might indicate an issue with the CPU starting properly.

I prefer to mention the motherboard or the power supply unit. Would you like me to try it with another PSU? Should I use a PSU tester or the paperclip method to start the PSU separately?

It's been nearly three months since I shared this, but I've been really busy, didn't have another PSU available, and didn't have time to address the concern. Eventually, I took the time to follow EVGA's RMA procedure and received a replacement unit. Once installed, the issue disappeared—now it powers on with just one press. Thanks to all the support I received!
