The latest configuration demands constant UAC checks (maybe a strange fate is upon me).
I’m still encountering the UAC pop-up for every Steam game and other programs (mostly everything except Discord and Firefox). I shared my experience on an older system, and after trying all fixes, I created a new one while keeping only the GPU and PSU. The only effective solution so far is disabling UAC completely, which seems risky. My brother’s PC runs the same games without this problem (we confirmed his settings matched mine), and my work PC also works fine. I’m struggling to figure this out. I have the latest Windows 10 updates and no other antivirus installed. The OS was just installed on an SSD a few minutes ago, and there hasn’t been enough time to cause this issue. Any advice would be appreciated.
I use UAC without any issues. For your problem, did you use your login account or set it up as a parent account? It seems like parental controls might be active, possibly using another account instead of the admin. But since you can disable UAC, it suggests you're likely the administrator.
I just confirmed everything and I’m the admin. It’s clear that practically nothing will harm me. What bothers me is seeing another machine with identical settings that isn’t affected. Since I’m in IT, this feels even more awkward and frustrating.
I’m not really in the mood to shut everything down since my first issues began after my brother unknowingly sent me a nasty virus.
