Hello. I just installed the latest BIOS version 5021, thinking it would work, but now my A2 RAM slot isn’t functioning. The computer won’t boot to Windows or pass POST when a RAM stick is placed in the A2 slot—it just remains there with the yellow DRAM indicator lit. When I use only three of the four original RAM slots in any combination, the system boots normally, but inserting RAM into the A2 slot causes the issue. ASUS technical support didn’t provide any guidance and instead directed me to an RMA request. Someone might have encountered this problem before and could suggest solutions. I’ve also tried reverting to an older BIOS version and other intermediate versions, but the same issue persists. I’ve used the jumper to reset CMOS and removed the battery as well. All four RAM sticks work and the PC boots when the A2 slot isn’t active. MotherBoard - Asus PRIME X570-PRO OS - Windows 11 x64? Ryzen 5800x Nvidia 3070 GPU MotherBoard - (if NOT a laptop) Power Supply - Corsair 850 W

Verify the CMOS battery level. A different BIOS version doesn’t change the memory location. The memory controller resides on the CPU. Would you like to inspect your CPU for damaged pins? Have you tried repositioning the CPU?

I've replaced the CPU and checked for any damaged pins. The RAM slot also worked, but the system doesn't boot or POST properly—just shows a yellow glow on the DRAM light. I swapped the RAM sticks again to confirm, but nothing changed. I visited the AMD support page for my CPU and downloaded their update tool for Ryzen chipsets, but it didn't fix the problem either. I'm still stuck.

The next action would be to test with a different AM4 CPU. If this occurs again, the problem likely lies with the motherboard, though memory controller issues are more common on the CPU.
