does not work for BIOS especially when overclocking, even mild overclocks. For a real example, you’d need BIOS FB on your X58A UD3. A 1:1 uncore memclk at 45nm would cause total failure and immediate crashes on D8 code. If you’re experimenting, don’t waste time updating unless you really need it for hardware support or overclocking—otherwise it’ll be a long, frustrating process.
