The whole 'The last of us' and the numerous VRAAM issues the game is facing right now. I own a mid-tier system (Ryzen 5700X, 3060 Ti 8GB, 16GB RAM) and have been using Nvidia's optimized settings on an ultra display at 1080p with 165Hz. I haven't encountered any problems so far. Why are others having such difficulties despite having better specs, including GPUs with 12GB+ of VRAM? I'm confused.

It's really hard to understand.
Most people aren't aware of background processes or how much they consume resources. They often don't know to avoid installing all optional check boxes, which can lead to multiple help windows and antivirus programs running at once.
There are simply too many variables involved.

Also others might be using higher resolutions. For instance, 1440p on that 3060ti could mean you have to lower things to medium. Some people prefer ultra with all their settings turned up. Advanced textures and ray tracing all take up more VRAM. I've noticed on YouTube that many recommend high settings for games because it's hard to tell the difference unless you're actively checking. But those high settings usually result in better FPS.

The interesting aspect of the PC gaming world is... surprisingly few people understand how their machines function. I can estimate how many individuals assembled their own systems using just a couple of hands and extra space. The rest of my acquaintance who plays games on PC either use a laptop or purchased a ready-made setup. It’s quite probable these folks also install numerous unnecessary programs that clash with each other, simply because they think if it works with their hardware then it should work too.

I suppose to come across as a bit pretentious, I haven’t faced any issues with Windows updates over the last decade. That leads me to wonder how others manage their computers to deal with all these complications. I’m not particularly meticulous about my own tech either.
