The laser printer does not accept any toner.
The laser printer does not accept any toner.
Hello everyone:
I own a Brother HL-2130 Laser Printer. The machine shows a warning that the toner needs to be changed because the toner light stays on. I've used two different toners, but neither one works with the printer; the light remains active. Before purchasing another printer, I want to confirm if this is just a minor issue.
Do you have any suggestions or ideas about what might be causing this problem?
Best regards.
I purchased those toners from Amazon, they are third-party products.
Could it be the issue?
I will attempt to clean the printer.
I have used these third-party toners numerous times before. Therefore, I believe the printer isn't restricted.
Thank you very much!
I have previously used these third-party toners many times. Because of this, I believe the printer isn't limited. Situations shift: manufacturers or third parties may introduce new offerings that users desperately need. Sometimes there isn't even a real product—just a scam site designed to lure people and then display a loud, confusing "infected" message. The goal is for the end user or searcher to panic, contact the seller, pay, and end up being scammed again. This pattern also applies to user guides and manuals, particularly for older or discontinued items. The phrase "compatible with" always raises a warning in my eyes.
As I see it, most Brother printers don’t have a way to verify if a toner cartridge is genuine and refuse third-party models. I discovered online tutorials on resetting the toner cartridge count for these printers. That was crucial when selecting one of their color lasers that I now own.
BUT what can happen is that the printer’s system for tracking a toner cartridge emptiness might not automatically reset after you swap it out. Therefore, you should manually reset the cartridge counter. Here is a video that explains the process for your specific model – it’s straightforward.
